Polovina výnosů z poplatku z pobytu poputuje zpět do rozvoje udržitelného cestovního ruchu. Dnes to schválila Rada hl. m. Prahy
29.8.2022 — Hlavní město Praha se jako první obec v zemi zavazuje k tomu, že 50 % z veškerých výnosů z poplatku z pobytu vrátí zpět do rozvoje cestovního ruchu. Výnosy využije zejména na jeho kultivaci, marketingové kampaně realizované společností Prague City Tourism nebo MICE aktivity jako jsou kongresy nebo mezinárodní konference. Schválila to dnes Rada hl. m. Prahy. Systém přerozdělení začne platit od roku 2024 a naváže tak již na dříve podepsané memorandum týkající se navýšení poplatku z pobytu na 50 Kč mezi hl. m. Prahou, Asociací hotelů a restaurací ČR a společností Prague City Tourism.
