8.6.2020 — L'Institut français de Prague (French Institute of Prague) is holding an exhibition called 'Prague etc...' by Czech-French photographer Michael W. Pospíšil until the 4th of July. The exhibition is held at Gallery 35 on Štěpánská Street, part of the French Institute which supports connection between French and Czech art.

11.6.2020 — The 'Bodaiju macuri' or 'Feast of Lindens', the Japanese celebration of spring, will take place on Friday and Saturday, the 12th and 13th of June, in Vyšehrad in Prague.

21 projects compete in climate change competition finals

16.8.2020 — The public voting for the Adapterra Awards competition has started. The competition aims to find the best ideas on how to prepare Czech cities, towns and landscapes for the effects of climate change, such as drought, rising temperatures and torrential rain. 21 projects have reached the final stage of the competition, five of which are from Prague. The public have until the end of September to choose the best projects in the Czech Republic tackling current challenges regarding climate change, such as creating green buildings and public spaces, cooling urban streets and returning water to the landscape.

1.4.2019 — In April, 'Mladí Ladí Jazz', the annual International Youth Jazz Festival in Prague, will bring seven evenings of concerts where world renowned stars will be performing, workshops and, of course, the traditional youth competition 'Jazzfruit'. 20.4.2020 — Assistance Centres ('Asistenční centrum pomoci') will be established in the Municipal Library of Prague in case of emergencies with a large number of casualties and other major crisis situations. It will primarily serve to provide information and assistance to people affected by an emergency, as well as their loved ones.

The festival venues are the Church of the Virgin Mary under the Chain ('kostel Panny Marie pod řetězem') in the Lesser Town ('Malá Strana') and the Knight Hall of the Grand Priory Palace ('Rytířský sál Velkopřevorského paláce').

21.11.2018 — Prague City Assembly has 65 members that are elected in municipal elections by Prague citizens for a four-year period. The following parties, movement, and coalition are represented for the election period 2018 - 2022: Česká pirátská strana, PRAHA SOBĚ, koalice "TOP 09, STAN a KDU-ČSL", ODS, ANO 2011. Prague City Assembly holds a session once a month (or as needed) and its meetings are open to the public. Meetings of the Assembly are convened in writing and made available to the public. Prague City Hall Assembly decides on significant matters that concern Prague. It puts forward bills in the Chamber of Deputies and approves the Prague City budget, both of which have been previously discussed with individual city districts. Additionally, the Assembly approves the City and territorial districts development programs, issues generally binding regulations, grants honorary citizenships, and awards of the City of Prague. 30.6.2020 — Fans of new circus will be pleased to hear that Letní Letná, the popular new circus festival, will take place this year after all, and only part of the programme will be postponed until next year. The 17th annual Letní Letná festival will take place from the 18th to the 25th of August in Letenské sady in Prague. Unfortunately, the programme will not be the same, but it is still well worth a visit!

24.3.2019 — In the 'Mytologická chodba' (Mythological Corridor) of the 'Valdštejnský palác' (Wallenstein Palace), which is the seat of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, there is a unique exhibition of gifts that Senators have received from foreign delegations over the past twenty years. Gift exchanges are a traditional part of meetings of state officials with delegations from abroad. This diplomatic protocol was applied in Antiquity and its first written record is from the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

The most comfortable way to travel in the historical centre is the public transport, which can take you almost anywhere. It is cheap and quick. Travelling by car is recommended only exceptionally.
