12.1.2006 — Vedení města Prahy usiluje o úpravu smlouvy se společností JC Decaux, aby byla pro město finančně výhodnější. To je jednoznačný závěr ze včerejšího jednání mezi radním hl. města Prahy Pavlem Klegou a vrcholnými zástupci společnosti JC Decaux, která provozuje pražský mobiliář. Vedení města se o úpravu smlouvy podepsanou na začátku devadesátých let snaží již delší dobu. Impulsem byl posudek firmy Deloitte Czech Republic, ze kterého vyplynulo, že stávající smluvní vztahy nedostatečně odrážejí situaci na pražském reklamním trhu.

10.5.2020 — The jubilee 15th American Spring International Music Festival ('Americké jaro') will take place with an online programme. If you can't come to the festival, the festival will come to you! Enjoy a variety of concerts in your pyjamas and with a glass of wine in the comfort of your home on the 11th, 14th and 19th of May. The festival will start online and continue live in the autumn.

17.7.2020 — 'Náplavky', meaning riverbanks, have become popular venues for various events and markets in Prague. Now, travelling between Smíchovská náplavka by Hořejší Embankment and Náplavka by Rašínovo Embankment will be quicker and easier thanks to a new regular ferry connecting them.

23.5.2020 — As Prague would like to have as much public art as some other major cities, streets and other public spaces will be soon filled with work by various artists. The 'Art for the City' programme ('Umění pro město') will support the emergence of contemporary art in public spaces in the Czech capital.

11.9.2019 — On the 12th of September, the famous Thai youth symphony orchestra, Siam Sinfonietta, will play in Liechtenstein Palace in Prague along with Czech symphonic orchestra, Novoměstská filharmonie.

3.11.2022 — Zákonem č. 201/2012 Sb., o ochraně ovzduší, účinným od 1.9.2012, byla zavedena povinnost pro orgány ochrany ovzduší aktivně zpřístupňovat veřejnosti informace o podaných žádostech o závazná stanoviska a povolení provozu a o závazných stanoviscích a povoleních provozu vydaných na základě těchto žádostí. Průběžně aktualizovaný seznam žádostí evidovaných Odborem ochrany prostředí Magistrátu hlavního města Prahy.

5.9.2019 — From the 6th to the 8th of September, Prague will host the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup finals. The series of top-class canoe slalom races will culminate at the artificial canoe slalom course in Troja, along with the Extreme Canoe Slalom CSLX World Championships 2019.

15.8.2019 — The padel tournament, International Padel Experience by Madison, will take place in Prague for the first time from the 16th to the 18th of August.

23.11.2019 — The event will include many musicians, microphones, speakers, and tape recorders, and spectators will be able to move freely among them. The project will resemble a live installation.

24.2.2006 — Cenu Nejlepší hotel v ČR předal dnes v pražském Planetáriu hotelu Hilton Prague radní Bohumil Černý. V anketě TTG Travel Awards, vyhlašované každoročně odborným čtrnáctideníkem TTG Czech pro cestovní ruch, letos odborníci udělili celkem devatenáct cen. Ty dnes při příležitosti konání veletrhu Holiday World předali ministr pro místní rozvoj Radko Martínek, ředitel odboru kultury, památkové péče a cestovního ruchu pražského magistrátu Jan Kněžínek a další čestní hosté.

10.3.2020 — 'Greetings from Fukushima' is a German drama which will be screened on the 11th of March in the Goethe-Institut in Prague. The award-winning film deals with the consequences of a nuclear disaster and interpersonal relationships.

26.9.2020 — The 28th of September is the Day of Czech Statehood. In Prague Zoo, this day is traditionally dedicated to the zoo's anniversary. The reopening of the Hippopotamus Pavilion and the introduction of the male hippoTchéco will be the highlights of this year's celebration. However, in order to maintain social distancing and prevent large numbers of visitors indoors, this part of the event will be broadcasted on ČT24 in the morning and visitors will be able to visit the Hippo Pavilion over the course of the afternoon.

24.2.2020 — 'Náplavka', meaning riverbank, refers to the embankment of the Vltava River between Palacký Bridge and Railway Bridge in Prague 2, a place where farmers' markets have regularly been held for 11 years. Even though it is not the largest in the Czech capital city, the market is unsurpassed with its friendly, relaxed atmosphere, which is one of the reasons that it is one of the most popular markets in the city. The 2020 season started in February, and the market is held every Saturday.

6.7.2020 — The VILA Štvanice Theatre has opened its outdoor summer venue, with the biggest stage located under the arch of the Hlávkův Bridge overlooking the park. The summer stage programme will include open-air theatre plays, concerts and movie screenings. The bridge's arch offers a shelter, so even bad weather cannot spoil the show!

11.9.2020 — Every year, usually in early autumn, the doors of the most interesting monuments, buildings and other spaces of interest, many of which are normally inaccessible, open to the public as part of the European Heritage Days. Between the 12th and the 20th of September, visitors can see most of them for free.

2.9.2019 — Until the 3rd of November, an exhibition of Prague City Gallery 'Aleš Hnízdil, Jiří Kačer - Sculptures and Objects' is taking place in Troja Château in Prague 7. Both artists' work is exhibited inside the chateau and in the Baroque garden.

29.2.2020 — British musician Jade Bird will play her style of American folk music at NoD Roxy club in Prague on the 2nd of March. This will be her first performance in the Czech Republic. British singer-songwriter Jade Elizabeth Bird is rapidly becoming one of the most interesting young, female voices in music. She has distinctive vocals and strong melodies, and brilliantly interprets American folk for European ears.

16.12.2019 — The National Gallery has been running an exhibition on mediaeval and early Renaissance art in the Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia in the Old Town of Prague since November. On the 18th of December, the National Gallery is organising Christmas guided tours to selected Christmas-themed panel paintings and 14thand 15th century sculptures, with themes such as Christ's childhood, the Adoration of the Magi, and Madonna with Child, among others.

16.8.2020 — The public voting for the Adapterra Awards competition has started. The competition aims to find the best ideas on how to prepare Czech cities, towns and landscapes for the effects of climate change, such as drought, rising temperatures and torrential rain. 21 projects have reached the final stage of the competition, five of which are from Prague. The public have until the end of September to choose the best projects in the Czech Republic tackling current challenges regarding climate change, such as creating green buildings and public spaces, cooling urban streets and returning water to the landscape.

Prahy pro oblast školství Vít Šimral dnes za hlavní město podepsal Memorandum o vzájemné spolupráci při podpoře volnočasových aktivit a pomoci získání dovedností pro budoucí život a kariéru mladých lidí s The Duke of Edinburghs International Award Czech Republic Foundation, o.p.s. (DofE). Memorandum bylo uzavřeno na dobu tří let.

2.12.2020 — Ve druhé polovině ledna příštího roku by Praha měla znát jméno nového dodavatele prvků pražského mobiliáře. Město oslovilo 17 společností z celé Evropské unie včetně domácích firem. Čtyři z nich poslaly nabídky do výběrového řízení.

21.12.2005 — Žižkovská Vyšší odborná škola uměleckoprůmyslová a Střední uměleckoprůmyslová škola dnes otevřela dvoudenní jubilejní výstavu klauzurních prací svých studentů.

3.4.2009 — Pražský radní Milan Richter dnes odpoledne v Městské knihovně v Praze slavnostně otevřel výstavu dánské architektury pod názvem Okamžiky architektury. Výstava, jež se bude konat v Městské knihovně v Praze na Mariánském náměstí od 3. do 30. dubna 2009 vznikla ve spolupráci s architektonickým ateliérem "Un souffle sur la ville", velvyslanectvím Dánského království a Ministerstvem životního prostředí ČR.

25.10.2011 — Po roční přestávce Praha obnovuje tradici pořádání novoročního ohňostroje. Pražští radní dnes rozhodli, že se letos uskuteční o půlnoci z 31. 12.  2011 na 1. 1. 2012. Na jeho zajištění Praha vypisuje veřejnou zakázku.

26.9.2023 — Videomappingy, světelné designové projekce a dechberoucí instalace čekají na návštěvníky digitálního a kreativního Signal Festivalu. Ten vybrané pražské lokality rozsvítí ve dnech 12. až 15. října 2023. Letošní ročník se ponese v duchu souladu přírody, digitálních technologií a objevování - "Ecosystems I: Explore! Explore!"

23.7.2020 — The palaces in Prague are opening after the coronavirus closure. The Government of the Czech Republic will open the unique Liechtenstein Palace on Kampa Island to the public on Saturday the 25th of July.

31.1.2020 — Entrance to the National Gallery will be free at the beginning of February on the occasion of the 224th anniversary of the foundation of the Society of Patriotic Friends of Art ('Společnost vlasteneckých přátel umění'). Take this unique opportunity to visit their collections and exhibitions on the 1st and 2nd of February.

9.10.2019 — On the 10th of October, Clarinet Factory will perform classical, jazz, world and electronic music in La Fabrika cultural centre in Holešovice, Prague. The concert is held to celebrate World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and the four musicians will perform in support of Cesta domů Home Hospice in Prague.

20.2.2012 — Do konce června vyhlásí radní elektronickou aukci na služby mobilního operátora. Rozhodujícím faktorem pro myšlenku uspořádání nového výběrového řízení je právě snaha o snížení ceny za poskytování mobilních služeb elektronických komunikací.

8.12.2020 — Hlavní město si nechalo vypracovat analýzu od poradenské společnosti Moore Czech Republic, s níž spolupracovalo na novém plánu rozvoje sportu a sportovišť v Praze. Z analýzy mimo jiné vyplývá požadavek veřejnosti, aby byla sportoviště více bezbariérová. V současnosti to ovšem splňuje jen zhruba každé desáté zařízení. Zlepšit tuto situaci má plán rozvoje sportu, který si klade za cíl zvýšit přístupnost sportovišť handicapovaným, a to zejména výstavbou nových zařízení. Za tímto účelem fungovaly odborné pracovní skupiny, kterých se účastnily i organizace zastřešující handicapované sportovce.

15.7.2019 — The 20th Anniversary of the Summer Festivities of Early Music has started! The first of seven exclusive evenings of music took place on the 11th of July and the international music festival will run until the 6th of August. The well-known festival has been connecting old music with architecture for 20 years, as the concerts take place at specially selected historical venues in the Czech capital city, such as the Convent of Saint Agnes, Břevnov Monastery, Troja Château, and Rudolfinum.

23.10.2019 — A new exhibition, 'Russia. Timeless', is running in DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Holešovice in Prague until the 2nd of December. The exhibition introduces strong artistic opinions from contemporary Russia. "The exhibition shows the theme of timelessness over the past sixty years by artists of different generations and aesthetic beliefs. We want them to stand side by side and together, without categorising them as more or less important than each other. Each visitor can decide that for themselves and according to their own opinion," Tomáš Glanc, one of the exhibition's curators, said.

The DAFilms.cz website, which offers many interesting films and documentaries, is the fruit of the creative cooperation between 7 key European documentary film festivals associated in the Doc Alliance. The aim of the project is to push the boundaries of documentary film, to promote its diversity and to promote quality original films.

31.12.2019 — For the past ten years, Prague Botanical Garden has been running a unique project called 'Kořeny osobností' (Roots of Personalities), where important public figures plant a rare tree on 'Stezka osobností' (Trail of Personalities). The hundredth tree has recently been planted.

20.11.2019 — From the 21st to the 24th of November, Bio Oko cinema in Letná in Prague will be a meeting place for lovers of Polish cinema. The 'Bardzo fajný' festival will not only offer new Polish movies, but also literary discussions, and food tasting of Polish delicacies.

14.2.2020 — On the 18th of February, the La Película festival will start in Prague's Světozor Cinema. For six days viewers will have the opportunity to delve into Spanish and Latin American films. This year, the festival will focus also on Cuban history.
