Císařský Island and Troja reconnected by pedestrian bridge
30.10.2020 — The districts of Prague 7 and Prague-Troja are connected by a new pedestrian bridge three years after the disastrous collapse of the Troja Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge will serve not only pedestrians, cyclists and people on inline skates, but also the Integrated Rescue System vehicles shall the need arise. The total cost of the construction was 150 million CZK, and the construction took less than one year.
Darwin Crater opens to the public
8.6.2020 — Darwin Crater, the long-awaited habitat for Tasmanian and Australian fauna, including Tasmanian devils, has finally opened in Prague Zoo. The new exhibition is named after the area in Tasmania which was created by a fallen meteorite. The circular shape of Darwin Crater in Prague Zoo, which is the centre of the habitat, depicts the crater in Western Tasmania.

31.10.2020 — 'Dvě tváře Prahy', meaning Two Faces of Prague, is a competition in which the participating photographers capture either the positive or the negative aspects of Prague. An outdoor exhibition of 23 winning photographs on large panels can be seen until the 5th of November in the pedestrian zone of Na Příkopě Street. The theme of 'Dvě tváře Prahy 2020' was Wenceslas Square and the surrounding area, and all types of photographers took part: adults, young people, children, keen amateurs and professionals. A total of 720 images were sent to the competition, the most in its eleven-year history.

4.2.2019 — At the beginning of February, construction work will commence on the bridge in Bubenská street, near the Vltavská metro station. The investor, Prague Technical Road Administration (Technická správa komunikací hl. m. Prahy, a.s.), expects the work to take approximately one month. Some traffic restrictions will be in place.

10.10.2019 — Up to 300,000 people are expected to come to Žofín Palace in Prague to pay their final respects to Karel Gott this Friday. Masarykovo Embankment, which is close to the venue, will be pedestrianised. The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will work with the police, the army and Prague City Hall for the smooth organisation of the event.

‘Laboratory of Living Sentiments’ at Meet Factory
29.7.2019 — Until the 8th of September 2019, there will be an exhibition of videos, 'Laboratory of Living Sentiments' by the Polish artist Magdalena Lazar in the Kostka Gallery. The themes of the exhibition are sentiments and memories. The artist Magdalena Lazar was born in Poland in 1986. She works with animation, video, photography, installation and objects. Her favourite themes include the present versus the past, the experience of a lot of change over a short period, and initiatives related to a post-growth economy.

This traditional event is this year associated with the famous Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik whom in the 1920s and 30s modified the Prague Castle. Women will compete for the European Cup in Judo

Visitors can look forward to more than 115 different entertainment attractions, an accompanying program and, of course, stalls with typical fair fast food. This year's fair will last until April 15 and is again the first event of its kind in Europe.

17.2.2019 — Since the Prague Public Transport Museum is very popular, The Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. has decided to open it to the public even in the winter months. The museum will be open every weekend until the 31st of March 2019 from 9am to 5pm. Visitors will find more than forty historic vehicles and many other exhibits here, including models, photographs, historical documents, tickets and transport plans.
New drive-in cinema at the Great Strahov Stadium
21.5.2020 — The space near the Great Strahov Stadium is being put to good use, with a brand-new drive-in cinema. With a capacity of 120 cars, it is the largest drive-in cinema in Prague. Apart from film screenings, various cultural events will also take place here during the summer.
